The tuberose is a flower which symbolizes love. In India, the Hindis use it in wedding ceremonies and decorate the bridal room to give it erotic virtues. In fact, the Hindi word for tuberose is “night perfume”.
Origin: the tuberose is originally from India and Mexico. Today, it is mainly cultivated in Egypt and India as well as in the region of Grasse in France.
Plant: the tuberose is a white flower in the agave family. This plant flowers from November to December and is grown in warm and sunny places.
Production: essence of tuberose is extracted by a technique using volatile solvents. Once the solvent has evaporated, there remains an earthy matter known as concrete.
