Violet

In ancient Greece, the violet was an emblem of purity and innocence. This flower decorated the graves of the young virgins. In Greek mythology one account mentions that "Venus could not bring herself to like Vulcan, her very ugly husband. Wanting to win his wife’s heart, one day he put on a crown of violets which was so fragrant that Venus, conquered, finally agreed to go with him and be his." Due to its small size and fragile petals, this flower symbolizes shyness. Its power can also be aphrodisiac.
