Ice Boréal is an olfactory thermal shock. The opening is a glacial breath, where camphoraceous Eucalyptus and Peppermint, enhanced by the vivacity of Black Pepper, create a sensation of crystalline purity. This intense and penetrating freshness gives way to a surprising heart of warmth. Gurjum balm, resinous and woody, warms the atmosphere, evoking the interior of a wooden chalet. The trail is that of an ancient forest, where dry Cedar and damp Oakmoss anchor the fragrance in a mysterious and comforting ambiance.

The green gold of Calabria. Bergamot is the ultimate citrus fruit of elegance. More floral and complex than a lemon, it brings a sparkling, zesty and slightly bitter opening, which brightens the richest compositions.

The journey takes us to the Ionian coast of Calabria, where bergamot groves stretch as far as the eye can see. Harvesting takes place in winter. The fruits are then cold-pressed to extract the precious essence. It's a story of terroir, where the soil, sun, and sea breeze combine to create a citrus fruit with an inimitable fragrance.
History & Origins
The bergamot tree (Citrus bergamia) is a mysterious tree, likely a cross between the lemon and the bitter orange tree. It owes its name to the city of Bergamo in Lombardy, where it is believed to have first been cultivated. Today, more than 90% of the world's production comes from a narrow coastal strip in Calabria, Italy.

Made famous in the 17th century by Eau de Cologne, bergamot is also the aroma that perfumes the famous Earl Grey tea. In perfumery, it is a nearly universal ingredient, used in all olfactory families to bring freshness and brilliance.

I chose a Radiata Eucalyptus essence, gentler and less harsh than Globulus Eucalyptus. It has a more floral and less medicinal facet, making it easier to integrate into fine perfumery. Its role is to bring a powerful yet elegant aromatic freshness to the top notes.
Eucalyptus is the gateway to the Dreamtime. We wanted that feeling of fresh air, of pure and untamed nature. It's a note that immediately evokes Australia and prepares for an introspective olfactory journey.

Black Pepper (India (Kerala)) · Top note
The black gold of the Malabar Coast. Black pepper is a spice of striking freshness and vivacity. Its fragrance is pungent, woody, and slightly floral. It's the note that snaps and awakens the composition.

The journey takes us to the spice forests of Kerala. Pepper vines climb the trees. The harvest of the still-green grains is done by hand, cluster by cluster. They are then sun-dried, where they take on their black color and develop their pungency.

Native to the Malabar Coast of India, pepper (Piper nigrum) is one of the oldest and most coveted spices in history. It was so valuable in antiquity and the Middle Ages that it was used as currency and nicknamed "black gold".

I used a supercritical CO2 extraction of black pepper. This modern technique captures the pungent and fresh sensation of freshly ground peppercorn, without the heavier, earthier aspects of classic essential oil. It's a spicy, pure, and long-lasting freshness.
For a fragrance inspired by Babylon, a crossroads of trade routes, Pepper was obvious. It brings that spicy vibration and energy that evokes caravans laden with treasures. It's the note that sets the rhythm of the fragrance.

Gurjum Balm (Indonesia) · Heart note

Gurjum balsam is an oleoresin extracted from trees of the Dipterocarpus genus, which grow in the tropical forests of Southeast Asia. It has been used for centuries in traditional medicine and for caulking boats.

I love Gurjum for its woody sweetness and its ability to bring roundness and warmth without being heavy. It has a slightly smoky facet that blends very well with cedar and oakmoss. It's an excellent binder between the fresh top notes and the woody base notes.

Cedar (United States (Virginia)) · Base note
The building wood. Virginia Cedar offers a woody, dry scent, reminiscent of freshly sharpened pencil. It's a base note that brings structure and understated elegance to a composition.

Eastern Redcedar (Juniperus virginiana) is not actually a cedar, but a juniper. Native to North America, its fragrant wood was used by Native Americans.

From construction timber to perfume ingredient, Virginia Cedar is now widely used for its dry woody signature and excellent value for money. Its essential oil is obtained by distilling sawdust, in an upcycling process.

I chose Virginia Cedar for its cleanliness and dryness. Unlike Atlas Cedar, it has no animalic or leathery notes. It provides a very linear and modern woody structure that supports the composition without overpowering it.
Cedar is Ice Boréal's woody structure. It brings that dry and clean facet reminiscent of a cabin's wood. It blends perfectly with oakmoss to create a very elegant woody-chypre base.

Oak Moss (France) · Base note
A pillar of chypre perfumery. Oakmoss absolute brings an inimitable woody, earthy and marine depth, evoking a damp undergrowth.

The journey takes us to the forests of France. Oak moss is hand-harvested from tree trunks. It is then dried and sent to Grasse to be processed and transformed into absolute.
History & Origins
Oak moss (Evernia prunastri) is a lichen that grows on the trunks of various trees, mainly oak trees. It has been used in perfumery since the 19th century and is at the origin of the 'Chypre' perfume family, following the success of Coty's 'Chypre' perfume in 1917.

From a pillar of classic perfumery, oakmoss has become a raw material whose use is very controlled. Perfumers today use reprocessed qualities or reconstitution accords to evoke its unique olfactory signature.

Oakmoss is Camina's signature chypre note. It brings depth and tenacity, evoking the earth of Provence. We have chosen a quality processed by Robertet, guaranteeing its compliance with regulations while preserving its unique olfactory character.

Definitions of top, heart and base notes
Top notes: generally hesperidic (citrus) and aromatic families (e.g. orange, yuzu, eucalyptus). Their intensity is very high at 0 h and drops quickly after a few hours. This is the expected behaviour of these volatile notes, which define the first impression of the perfume.
Heart notes: generally floral, spicy or fruity families (e.g. fig leaf, cherry blossom, tuberose). Their intensity is moderate at first, peaks around 6 h, then gradually fades. They form the character and main theme of the perfume.
Base notes: generally woody, amber, leathery or chypre families (e.g. vetiver, vanilla, sandalwood, patchouli). They start with a low intensity that increases and stabilises to become dominant after 12 h and 24 h. They form the sillage and ensure the perfume's longevity.
Our perfumers pair the most volatile raw materials with base or structural notes to improve their natural longevity.
Does the perfume change on my skin?
The notes of each Parfum du Voyage react differently on every skin, creating subtle or sometimes striking variations that reflect your individuality. When you wear one of our perfumes, you live a personal olfactory experience that no one else can copy.
Ingredients chosen one by one. Essential oils, absolutes, natural extracts: our perfumers in Grasse work with materials sourced at origin, from supply chains we know by name.
87% to 100% of natural origin. When a composition calls for it, a few high-quality synthetic molecules extend a note or sharpen its colour. They enhance nature, they never replace it.

To fill the 11 ml travel bottle or the 50 ml bottle with a 200 ml refill, follow these steps:
1. Unscrew the pump of the refillable 50 ml or 11 ml bottle, counter-clockwise (to the left).
2. Screw the "funnel" tip of the refill onto the bottle to refill, clockwise.
3. Once screwed on tightly, the bottle fills by itself thanks to the air intake. If it does not fill immediately, shake the refill gently to help the perfume flow down. Wait until the bottle is full. When there are no more bubbles in the refill, filling is complete.
4. Unscrew the refill by its tip, holding it firmly.
5. Screw the pump back onto your bottle. You are ready to wear it.
Note: when handling the refill, take care not to unscrew the "funnel" tip from its 200 ml bottle.

We carefully pack your perfumes as quickly as possible after your order (usually one working day). Once your parcel has shipped, you will receive an email to track it. Delivery time depends on your location (about 3 working days for France, 4 to 5 days for neighbouring countries, one week to 10 days for the rest of the EU and about 2 to 3 weeks for international destinations such as the US, Canada or South Korea).
