Originally from Asia, the lime found a land of choice in South America, and particularly in Brazil, which is one of the world's largest producers. It is a pillar of the local culture and gastronomy, inseparable from the famous Caipirinha.

I used a lime essence for its ability to 'lift' the solar notes. It brings a freshness that is not aggressive and that blends perfectly into the monoï accord, preventing it from becoming too heavy or too sweet.

For Tehani, we wanted a touch of freshness to balance the richness of the flowers and coconut. The Brazilian Lime brings this vivacity, like a stroke of light on a turquoise lagoon, with a festive energy of its own.

The Tiare (Gardenia taitensis) is a shrub native to Polynesia, which has become the national emblem of Tahiti. It is a sacred flower, used in all ceremonies and offerings, and worn in crowns or behind the ear.

An ornamental and offering flower, the Tiare is best known for being the key ingredient of Monoï, a perfumed oil obtained by macerating the flowers in copra oil. Its scent being too fragile to be extracted, it is most often recreated in perfumery as an accord.

In traditional Polynesian medicine, the Tiare flower is used in Monoï for its soothing and moisturizing properties.

The flower of the temples, a pearly offering, Its scent is a milk, a sacred sweetness. Almond and white peach, a golden sensuality, The memory of Tahiti, a celebrated beauty.

Recreating the Tiare is an exercise in subtlety. I used notes of white flowers like jasmine and ylang-ylang as a base, which I enveloped with salicylate notes for the solar effect and lactones for the creamy effect. It is an accord that must be both opulent and luminous.

For this accord, I used lactones, molecules with a creamy and fruity smell, to recreate the sensation of coconut milk. A touch of vanilla and almond notes completes the illusion, for a gourmandise that remains elegant and never cloying.

Traditionally used in hair ointments in Indonesia, Ylang-Ylang is today a pillar of luxury perfumery, famous for its role in iconic perfumes like Chanel N°5.

Ylang-Ylang is the ideal partner for tuberose. It shares its solar signature but with a spicy (clove) and slightly medicinal facet that gives it relief. My work was to use it to amplify the 'sun-warmed skin' side of the perfume, creating a floral heart of extreme opulence and sensuality.

Ylang-Ylang is the exotic sunny touch of Tehani. We chose an 'Extra Supérieur' quality from the Comoros, sourced by Behave Sourcing for its richness and ethical commitment. It brings this solar warmth and creamy roundness that envelops the Tiare accord and makes it even more addictive.

The flowers are immediately transported to the Robertet extraction plant, located in the heart of the plantations, to guarantee maximum freshness and olfactory quality. Originally from the Himalayan regions, Jasminum sambac has been cultivated in India for centuries. It is known as 'Mogra' and is deeply rooted in Indian culture, used as an offering in temples, to make garlands for weddings, and to perfume hair.

Sambac Jasmine is a joy to work with. It has a natural greenness that gives it a lot of modernity. I used it to bring a rich floral texture to the heart of the perfume, while remaining in a register of transparency and light. It brings the floral body without crushing the delicacy of the Tiare accord.

For Tehani, we wanted a jasmine that supports the luminosity of the perfume without weighing it down. The Sambac Jasmine from India was perfect. Its natural 'green tea' facet dialogues beautifully with the Tiare accord, and its florality is more joyful and less narcotic than that of Grandiflorum.
